Even though it is still very much going on, initially, the importance of contact tracing was stressed again and again. In this figure, we look at the effects of vigorously testing individuals that may have been exposed, and subsequently removing these from the population by quarantine. Some effect can be seen, but mostly, these efforts are constantly trying to get on top of things while actually just mopping up the floor without also turning off the faucet.
